10 Wrestlers Who Made Terrible Commentators
3. Brad Maddox
Better known for his stint as Raw general manager, Brad Maddox did at one point serve as a color commentator for a few of WWE's programs. In regards as to whether he was any good, if he was, he wouldn't have been placed on this list; let's just say that much.
Maddox made his WWE debut in late 2012 as a referee who went rogue when he cost Ryback the WWE Championship in the main event of Hell in a Cell. Although he was taken out of commission a few short weeks later, he continued to make appearances on programming demanding a Superstar contract, though he was often squashed by the likes of Randy Orton, The Great Khali, Brodus Clay and others.
Meanwhile down in NXT, he was doing color commentary every other week with Tony Dawson. His mic skills teetered on the line between being bad and passable, but he did well for himself on the January 16, 2013 edition of Main Event and seemed to have a future in announcing. Unfortunately, we were all deceived.
The former Raw GM spent too much time behind the booth trying to be funny when all he was, was bothersome to listen to. He was pulled off commentary to fully focus on his authoritative duties in the summer of 2013, which wasn't much better.
