Former TNA and NWA Heavyweight Champ Nick Aldis grew up idolising pro wrestlers of the late-1980s and 90s. He became obsessed with bodybuilding from a young age, and would eventually break into the wrestling biz in 2003. His first big break didn't come until he joined TNA in late-2008.

By then, Mickie James had been one of the top female stars in WWE for years.

There's no way Aldis could've tuned into WWE programming between 2005-2008 without seeing Mickie do her thing, and he's admitted he was impressed by her matches with Trish Stratus and others. So, basically, big Nick was likely a fan before falling in love with Mickie when the pair worked together in TNA.

The pair wed in 2015 and have a young son together. They're still an item in 2022; hearing Aldis explain how infatuated he was with James when he "saw her in person" is rather sweet.
