They used to say that, if you lived in a city, you're never more than 6ft away from a rat. While that's been scientifically debunked over the years but, one thing that is true, if you're watching a Dolph Zigger match you're no more than 6 tweets away from a Shawn Michaels comparison.

He's the looks, the attitude, the swagger, the trunks, the superkick, almost the whole package. He's so readily compared to the Heartbreak Kid that Drew McIntrye started getting Diesel comparisons purely through tagging with him. It's a subject that's followed him for his entire career.

Dolph, for his part, has always tried to avoid the comparisons wherever possible but did finally admit to the influence of HBK and a number of others when refining his in-ring style when speaking on Lilian Garcia's Chasing Glory podcast.

"It's a little bit of yes, but mostly no. As a young kid, I got into Ric Flair and I go 'I wanna be that guy.' So the blonde hair and over-the-top stuff is Flair stuff. When I got to OVW and I was doing some more psychology I go 'when Shawn's getting beat up I believe that'. I try to take what he did and it almost mixed with Mr. Perfect a little bit and Ric Flair".
