Every wrestler should go into a new year with the goal in mind that this year, they'll be able to capture some gold.

Championships are not just accessories to be taken lightly. They're the measuring stick by which a performer's career is judged as far as box office attraction, popularity, and a sign that they've honed their craft worth being granted such an honor.

In some cases, wrestlers are on an upward trajectory and have reached a point where they need to win a title, or they'll be unable to keep climbing the ladder. Nabbing a belt is often the only way they can break through that glass ceiling.

For others, the clock is ticking, and the next 12 months may be some of the last opportunities they've ever had to check something off their bucket list or cement their legacies.

WWE currently has more titles than ever before, particularly if you count NXT and EVOLVE on top of the main roster. The old guard is moving out and a ton of newcomers are hungry to start taking over.

Plenty of people should be in title contention, but these 10 wrestlers in particular absolutely must win a belt at some point in 2026.

10. Bron Breakker

Let's get the most obvious one out of the way first. 2025 will have been a waste if Bron Breakker is not a world champion by at least the end of 2026.

Arguably, even SummerSlam 2026 is too late, and there's a case to be made that he should win the title as early as his scheduled match against CM Punk on the January 5th episode of Monday Night Raw.

Plans for Seth Rollins to be the focal point with the World Heavyweight Championship heading into WrestleMania 42 are no longer applicable, and if the ultimate end goal of The Vision was to position Breakker as the next big star, WWE cannot dawdle for months on end with the philosophy that he's young and they can wait indefinitely.

Strike while the iron is hot. He's been cutting better promos than ever lately, and if he comes up short against Punk, there better be a good reason why he fails to live up to his potential, as well as immediate plans to rectify it.

Otherwise, if he goes back to being an upper-midcard guy simply waiting in the wings for another opportunity, all his heat is going to fizzle out.
