10 Wrestlers Who NEED Out Of AEW

9. Athena

Some will be reading this and saying: 'Erm...Athena is ROH Women's Champion". Yes, yes she is, but what is Ring Of Honor in 2024? It's a sub-division of AEW, and most pro wrestling fans barely give the once-proud workhorse promotion a second thought. When was the last time you paid full attention to Honor?

In other words, being a champ on ROH these days is like being a champ in any indy company outside the majors. It doesn't mean a whole hell of a lot in the grand scheme of things; Athena's main role in AEW is to occasionally (very occasionally) hope she gets onto Collision, Rampage or those Battle Of The Belts specials.

This is a far cry from the noise made when she leapt from WWE > AEW in 2022. People were excited back then, but there's nothing to be thrilled about these days. Athena would be well within her rights to ask Tony Khan, "...is this it, my dude?'.

She deserves a bigger platform.
