10 Wrestlers Who Never Let Kayfabe Die

8. Scott Hall

In Scott Hall, we have something of a case of art imitating life—and not a particularly happy one at that.

Hall portrayed numerous gimmicks during his in-ring career, including Razor Ramon during his WWF days as well as various guises under his given name whilst in WCW. And it’s one of those WCW gimmicks that we focus on here in the form of “Last Call” Scott Hall.

This new incarnation saw Hall’s character become dependent on alcohol, with him regularly pausing for a mid-match beer, in an angle that eventually led to him vomiting on Eric Bischoff during an episode of Nitro. Meanwhile, in real life, Hall was arrested for causing $2,000 of damages after keying a car during a drunken episode in Orlando.

In short, he’d gone from being on top of the world as a founding member of the nWo to being cast as a drunk on WCW TV, making for a fall from grace that wasn’t too dissimilar to the one he was currently living through outside of the confines of pro wrestling.

Thankfully—and in every sense of the word—he’s since got his life firmly back on track.
