10 Wrestlers Who No Longer Work For AEW
7. CIMA
AEW was never CIMA’s sole focus. Instead, the former Dragon Gate star’s priority was his role as president of China-based promotion OWE. Nonetheless, CIMA, along along with Strong Hearts stablemates El Lindeman and T-Hawk, made prominent appearances for AEW early on in a mutually beneficial arrangement. His presence signalled AEW’s commitment to featuring international talent and working with other companies.
After early PPV appearances including a losing effort against Kenny Omega, CIMA mostly appeared on Dark. The travel restrictions around the global pandemic pretty much put an end to his association with the promotion in early 2020. CIMA was quietly removed from AEW’s roster page in March of that year.
Given AEW’s stuffed roster, it seems unlikely we’ll be seeing a returning for CIMA or his Strong Hearts buddies anytime soon. Though with no bad blood between the wrestler and the promotion, future appearances aren’t impossible. He has continued to work with other companies outside OWE including NJPW and AJPW.
