10 Wrestlers Who No Longer Work For AEW

4. Ivelisse

Another wrestler to get off to a strong start in AEW, only for her fortunes to change. After debuting in the Casino Battle Royale at All Out 2019, “La Sicaria” started picking up more regularly bookings in 2020. Things looked good when she won the Deadly Draw Women’s Tag Team Cup tournament with teammate Diamanté.

That September Ivelisse and Thunder Rosa had one of the most bizarre and embarrassing matches in AEW’s short history. A backstage disagreement seemingly spilled over into shoot strikes in the ring. She remained with the company until April 2021 but her appearances dwindled. The Wrestling Observer had reported she wasn’t being used due to issues with coaches.

After her release, Ivelisse put out a statement that laid the blame squarely at her former colleague’s feet:-

“I spoke up about mistreatment from a Coach, even to other women too, there were witnesses and I was the one suspended and left in limbo and just now let go, and nothing has been done at all the entire time about (Thunder Rosa) slandering my name the entire time in AEW and doing everything to sabotage my position there, I kept quiet, (Thunder Rosa) also has a history of getting involved with officials in order to get ahead”.

More recently Ivelisse has expressed a desire to return to AEW, if “this misunderstanding could be resolved.” Given Thunder Rosa’s continued good standing both with fans and the company, Evelisse probably has her work cut out mending some fences before that could ever happen.
