10 Wrestlers Who ONLY Played By Their Own Rules
8. Daniel Bryan
From the moment Daniel Bryan first stepped foot in WWE, the odds were stacked against him.
He was consistently mocked for being a vegan and the company didn't seem interested in getting behind the average looking independent star.
Yet, that didn't stop Bryan being who he was and his natural charisma soon began to shine through, complimenting his unquestionable quality in-between the ropes.
Never feeling the need to be something he wasn't, Bryan eventually organically became the most over star in the company and Vince McMahon had no choice but to crown him as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania XXX.
Even when tragedy struck in 2016 and Bryan was forced to retire due to multiple concussions, he didn't do what was expected of him. He didn't sit back and enjoy an early retirement. Instead, he did everything in his power to get medically cleared and he successfully returned to action in 2018.
Bryan has gone through his entire career playing by his own rules and his recent decision to focus on putting over stars like Drew Gulak on Friday Night SmackDown on FOX is just another example of this.
