10 Wrestlers Who Perfected A Non-Finishing Move

1. Triple H - Spinebuster

The 'Arn Anderson Spinebuster' as it was often referred to as by good ol' JR, has to be one of the most satisfying moves in wrestling. Part of what makes this move so fun to watch is how clean Triple H's delivery was; catching his opponent running at high speed, the turn, the slight kick of the leg, then planting his man flat on their back.

Bret Hart's assessment of Triple H as being someone who never innovated, creating a particular move or finish that had never been seen before, may well be true. But what Triple H undeniably did was perfect many small things; every element of The Game's moveset felt impactful, clean, and had the gravitas you'd expect from a perpetual main-eventer, even if they did lack some of the flair of an HBK or The Rock. The weightiness and the sound of the impact when The Cerebral Assassin delivered this particular move was highly satisfying.

The timing of the move was crucial too; often used as a momentum stopper, the spinebuster would stop an opponents comeback dead in its tracks, the impact of it often echoing through the arena as the cheering crowd was silenced.

It's all about the game, and how you play it.
