10 Wrestlers Who Performed Their Own Theme Songs

9. The Time Is Now - John Cena

The opening note of any entrance theme is the most important, as it's the first thing fans will hear before a shock Royal Rumble entrance, a heroic save, or an opportunistic attack. To have the crowd gasp in perfect unison is the desired response, so having a distinctive opening note is key to making the arena feel like one, giant entity.

From Stone Cold Steve Austin's shattering glass to CM Punk's TV static, starting a theme song in a memorable way simply works wonders on making the crown react in any number of ways.

Though much of John Cena's career has been at the cost of a few disgruntled sighs as opposed to excited cheers, his theme, The Time Is Now, starts with a distinctive, but slow few notes before swirling into a simply iconic tune. It's immensely catchy and will be stuck in fans' heads for days (or years, for many of us) to come.

Cena's vocals won't be mistaken for Kendrick Lamar anytime soon, but they pair wonderfully with the cheesy backing track, which all combine to form a theme song that so many, kids and adults alike, can get behind.

As much as it's easy to criticise its longevity, John Cena running down the ramp to anything else would simply feel wrong.
