10 Wrestlers Who Performed Their Own Theme Songs
6. Cool, Cocky, Bad - Honky Tonk Man
"I've got long sideburns and my hair slicked back, I'm gonna do your town in my pink Cadillac"
If ever there was an entrance theme that was a suitable introduction to a character, it's this.
The Honky Tonk Man was selling out Madison Square Garden long before the likes of Roman Reigns was head of the WWE table, or Adam Page was on top at AEW. His larger-than-life persona catapulted him to stardom as the cocky, care-free Honky Tonk Man, and a decorated career that followed resulted in a worthy Hall of Fame induction in 2019.
Naturally, with a gimmick so closely inspired by the music of his Bolivar, Tennessee upbringing, The Honky Tonk Man performed his own entrance theme, and it was, predictably, a late-20th century hip-swinging country track.
Cool, Cocky, Bad is a tune that's surely inspired by Chuck Berry, Elvis Presley and Honky Tonk bars all over the American south. It's a rootin', tootin' good time, and despite its arrogant lyrics, will lead fans to believe the character is one that's worthy of their cheers.
In reality, The Honky Tonk Man flourished as a heel, and the self-centred Cool, Cocky, Bad was a perfect introduction to his villainy.
