One one hand you have a man, something of a veteran of the company, who has been on the cusp of greatness for what seems like forever.

World Wrestling Entertainment have given him the ball on a couple of occasions, only to almost immediately take the ball back before he can do anything with it. He's booked to perform in his home town, and the match will be a ladder match.

On the other hand, we have a veteran of the industry who has only just made it to the big leagues, and has recently won his first singles title in the shape of the Intercontinental Championship. He is booked to defend this title in a ladder match, and has been told that just less than a month after winning it he will be dropping it.

What we have is two men with a point to prove and a whole lot of ladders, which gives us not only one of the stiffest matches in recent memory but two men performing as if they stole the bodies they were wrestling in.

Dolph Ziggler and Luke Harper were the men, and their bout at TLC 2014 is as good an example of two guys wrestling each other with a death wish as you are going to find in recent memory.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
