10 Wrestlers Who Probably Won't Return Until 2021

AEW made a big statement when former Knockouts Champion Awesome Kong showed up at Double or Nothing in 2019.

Here they had one of the most recognisable women in wrestling and a star who had now also become known for her performance as Tammé 'The Welfare Queen' Dawson on the uber-popular Netflix TV show GLOW.

However, that latter commitment meant that her recent run with the company was cut short in February as she was needed on set to shoot the fourth season of the series.

Kong was quickly written off television after her teammates in The Nightmare Collective attacked the performer on an episode of Dark and AEW also teased in a Tweet at that time that they did not know 'when or if she will return to action'.

With the current global situation interrupting GLOW season four mid-shoot, it's now unclear when the show will begin filming again. Alison Brie (who plays Ruth Wilder on the show) has even admitted that they could be one of the last productions to resume due to the highly physical nature of the series.

So, it seems unlikely that Kong will be back wrestling for AEW before she fulfils her GLOW commitments and that means the company's storyline tweet earlier this year may carry a bit more weight than they previously planned.
