10 Wrestlers Who Probably Won't Return Until 2021

SmackDown's Elias hasn't exactly had the rub of the green in 2020, has he?

Coming into the year, many were speculating that 'The Drifter' may be in line for a marquee match-up with his 'Mania 35 sparring partner John Cena at this year's Show of Shows. However, those rumours were quickly put to bed once it was announced that Cena would be taking on 'The Fiend' at 'Mania 36 and Elias would be going one-on-one with... 'King' Baron Corbin.

2020 has also seen Elias dropped from a balcony, beaten to pulp with his own guitar and hit by a car in a storyline hit-and-run incident on the blue show.

That last event was used to write the star off television due to a genuine injury he suffered after securing a place in the semi final of the Intercontinental Championship tournament. This torn pectoral muscle originally meant that the guitar strumming wrestler would likely miss several months of action. However, it's recently been revealed that Elias could actually be out for longer than previously expected and there's a chance he could even miss next year's WrestleMania.

Fingers crossed he can put the frustrations of 2020 behind him and come back with a spring in his step in 2021. Just keep him as far away from Corbin as humanly possible, please.
