10 Wrestlers Who Proved Their Worth In A Crisis
1. Will Ospreay
Will Ospreay, since pro wrestling has all but shut down, has created both winking respite from this grim present and a life-affirming pitch for its eventual, uncertain future.
In an enterprising bid to provide fans with new, live content, Ospreay helped organise a free show on which he devised the quite brilliant and resourceful idea to wrestle his girlfriend, Bea Priestley, in what was a very good and creative match. In addition to creating safe content in a new world that cannot sustain it - this description does not extend to the chop he unleashed on her chest, f*cking hell - Ospreay listened to CM Punk's musing that a match between them might be of interest, and challenged him to what would be an improbable über-epic at next year's Wrestle Kingdom super-show.
Ospreay had proven himself a benevolent force for good in professional wrestling before this crisis unfolded. He is committed to growing the scene in Australia, thrashing his body in matches most do not see, and of course spearheaded the pre-NXT UK BritWres renaissance.
He loves pro wrestling and refuses to give up on it.
