10 Wrestlers Who Quietly Retired

10. New Jack

It seems peculiar that a man as openly violent and outrageous as New Jack would go out in fairly low-key circumstances, but that is exactly how The King of the Streets announced his retirement in 2013. New Jack's final match took place at a Pro Wrestling Syndicate show, a predictably violent affair against fellow hardcore veteran Necro Butcher.

New Jack picked up the win, shared a passionate hug with Necro and waltzed off into the night, taking his mashed-up forehead and staple gun with him. With a career like his you'd be forgiven for expecting New Jack to go out in an immensely violent way that included fire or an Act of God as opposed to a simple 1-2-3 and a goodbye.

The retirement didn't last forever as the Original Gangsta returned to the ring this year. Will he go out in a literal blaze the second time around?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
