10 Wrestlers Who Really Can't Catch A Break
5. Ricochet
Remember Ricochet? High-flying dude, impressive physical charisma, the best body control in the business, a million-dollar smile? A generation-defining junior heavyweight, another 'can't miss' prospect? Well, for whatever reason, the can't miss genre-defining 'real-life superhero' spends most of his time getting beat up by The Hurt Business or having forgettable matches on Main Event.
There was a brief moment at the beginning of 2020, a break in the clouds. After getting a modicum of revenge on Brock Lesnar in the Royal Rumble (via Brock's famously fallible groin), Ricochet found himself at the head of the queue for a shot at The Beast Incarnate's WWE Championship.
What an opportunity! Now, not many expected Ricochet to win, but Lesnar had had famously competitive matches with a slew of smaller opponents in recent years. A hard-fought loss to Brock in Saudi Arabia could have done a lot for Ricochet, setting him up for a stellar 2020.
Instead, Ricochet was demolished in next to no time and almost immediately banished to the purgatory of RAW's jobber scene, helping to pull apart brawls and standing around while speeches were given. This developed into a weekly beating at the hands of The Hurt Business, before the emasculation of Ricochet was completed with a stint on Main Event. He even lost to Riddick Moss.
RIDDICK MOSS.
How in the blue hell do you f*ck up Ricochet? WWE creative, overachievers forever.
