With his tag-team partner, Big Cass, Enzo Amore was one of the most popular WWE Superstars in 2016. Debuting on RAW the night after WrestleMania 32 to a massive pop, The Realest Guys in the Room had the Texas crowd in the palm of their hands. Splitting up and reforming in an awkward angle in the first half of 2017, Enzo and Cass’s appeal was starting to dwindle.

After several backstage reports of Amore garnering heat from many of the wrestlers, Enzo was moved to 205 Live and soon became the Cruiserweight Champion. More backstage rumblings occurred when a disgruntled Neville, angry with the concept of losing to Amore, sat out the rest of his contract before leaving WWE in August 2018.

In early 2018, Enzo was involved in a sexual assault allegation and was fired by WWE shortly thereafter due to his failure to inform management about the allegation. The investigation was dropped due to lack of evidence.

Trying to use his former popularity to become a music star, Enzo began rapping under the name of Real1 to limited success.

At that year’s Survivor Series, Enzo appeared in the crowd of the Staples Center and caused a disruption which resulted in him being ejected from the building.

A similar, albeit worked, situation occurred at January 2019’s Ring of Honor / New Japan show G1 Supercard in Madison Square Garden, when Enzo and Big Cass jumped the barricade and beat down several wrestlers. Nothing came of the stunt.

Enzo still wrestles on the North Eastern independent scene.
