After a solid three year run as the General Manager of Raw (2002-2005) and sporadic appearances until 2007, Eric Bischoff took time away from the business.

After negotiating contracts for himself and Hulk Hogan, the two made their debut for TNA on 4 January 2010. From then until 2012, Bischoff was at the centre of the company’s on-camera action as the founder and co-leader of Immortal. He spent another two years with TNA in a backstage capacity, but in October 2013 he was sent home to sit out the remainder of his contract.

Bischoff doesn’t recall these years fondly:

“For the most part, it is very regrettable […] Looking back, I wished I wouldn’t have done it, with one or two exceptions. It was an opportunity for me to work with my son [Garett], and for my son to get an opportunity to work in the wrestling business […] He’s fantasized having an opportunity to work in the wrestling business with his father and being in TNA gave me that opportunity to provide to him. And I’ll forever be grateful for that […] But, other than that? Eh. Eh.”

Added to this was TNA owed Bischoff between $120,000 and $130,000 when he left the company. Unfortunately, the legal costs to pursue TNA would have amounted to more than the disputed sum. Bischoff was more incensed that they owed his son $35,000-$45,000, which he believed was a result of Bischoff and the company’s separate disagreement.
