Being honest, WCW’s Chamber of Horrors match at Halloween Havoc ’91 was always going to be a tough sell. Yet if there was one moment to seal the deal that this gimmick was utterly ridiculous, it was the moment that Abdullah the Butcher was “electrocuted”.

That bout saw Sting, El Gigante and The Steiner Brothers teaming to take on Big Van Vader, Cactus Jack, The Diamond Studd and, of course, Abdullah.

This is a match that has gone done in wrestling infamy for just how awful it was and for just how stupid of a decision it was to even think up such a match. Despite only lasting for 12 minutes, Chamber of Horrors has gone on to give wrestling fans nightmares for the subsequent 28 years since it took place.

If you’re lucky enough to have never seen this shocking (in the literal sense) match, the aim of the content was to put an opponent in the Chair of Torture and electrocute them.

After a mistake by Cactus Jack, it was the poor Butcher who was “electrocuted” in the most ridiculous and camp of ways. And with that, the Chamber of Horrors concept was never to be seen again.
