4. Ric Flair
Ric Flair will forever be remembered as the most decorated champion in the history of wrestling. Even though most of his title reigns were in NWA/WCW, his success in WWE cannot be overlooked. He didn't just overcome physical pain, but he dealt with the politics of the business as well. It's amazing that he was able to survive the plane crash in October of 1975 when he told he would never wrestle again at age 26. Not only did he compete again, but he went on to wrestle into his 60s while accumulating 16 World Titles - some say even more than that (if you want to get picky). Another sacrifice involved the risk he took when he got fired by WCW in 1991 and took their World Heavyweight Title to WWE TV. He really could have gotten into a lot of trouble for bringing that title to WWE TV, but he didn't care. A few months later, Flair won his first two WWE World Titles during the memorable 1992 Royal Rumble match for the vacant title. Flair went through so much in his career whether it was surviving the plane crash or dealing with a poorly run promotion like WCW and he always found a way to persevere through it all.
