Tye Dillinger's absence from NXT television, coupled with his debut at the number 10 spot in January's Royal Rumble, likely indicates that The Perfect 10 will finally be a part of WWE's main roster. While it would be absurd to say that his main roster run is doomed before it has even begun, we must consider the correlation between winning the NXT Title and success on Raw or SmackDown.

The NXT brand has developed to the point where the NXT Champion is more than just the best of the developmental bunch. It means you are on par with some of the biggest names in wrestling, like Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura. By not winning the title, WWE is implicitly telling us that Tye Dillinger is not that.

Though he never carried NXT's top strap, Dillinger is incredibly popular and that could translate into a meaningful spot on the main roster. There is no denying however, that his chances of doing so would have increased had he been treated as a truly elite talent in the developmental system.
