10 Wrestlers Who Should Have Won The WWE Royal Rumble

1. Daniel Bryan (2014)

Curiously, Daniel Bryan has become somewhat synonymous with the Royal Rumble match despite having never won it. That’s because not once but twice he’s been the fans' choice to come out on top, only to be denied by an apparent stubbornness of company decision-makers.

In 2014, Bryan was the overwhelming favourite to enter the Rumble as a surprise participant and earn himself a WrestleMania title match. Instead, Batista outlasted the rest of the field and was subsequently rejected by the audience.

Fast forward 12 months and Bryan was once-again most peoples’ top choice, but this time his moment was given to Roman Reigns – who was subsequently rejected by the audience.

To overlook Bryan once was bad enough, but to do so twice was scarcely believable. It’s difficult to pinpoint which snub was the more disappointing of the two, but given that the 2015 field featured other potential winners – Wyatt, Ziggler and Rusev, as mentioned earlier – the 2014 Rumble feels more and more like it was the year of Bryan and Bryan alone.
