10 Wrestlers Who Shouldn't Return For WWE's Brand Split 2016 This Week

4. Rob Van Dam

RVD was outstanding upon entering WWE during the Invasion. Despite technically wrestling for the heel Alliance faction, Van Dam was universally cheered by the WWE audience who admired his eye-catching in-ring style and flashy move-set.

One of the few former WCW/ECW talents to truly break out after the angle’s conclusion, Van Dam remained one of the company’s most popular wrestlers throughout his first run, and held the WWE Championship for a brief period of time in 2006.

Unfortunately, things started to fall apart shortly after RVD was chosen to spearhead WWE’s ECW revival. Once suspended due to his fondness for smoking a certain medicinal plant, Van Dam never recovered his lost momentum, and had completely ran out of steam by the time he returned to WWE in 2013 following a 3-year TNA run.

RVD was tired, uninspired, and unexciting throughout his second WWE spell. He’d lost much of the speed and agility that made him famous in the first place, and should he return next week, it would only tarnish the 45-year-old's legacy as a high-flying pioneer.
