10 Wrestlers Who Spent The Longest Time In WWE Royal Rumbles (Without Eliminating Anyone)

Do these Royal Rumble entrants not know the rules?!

The Royal Rumble is a concept familiar to every wrestling fan on the planet. 30 competitors (usually) enter the ring at timed intervals and attempt to throw everyone else out of the ring to be the last one standing.

Simple, right? Apparently not.

Whilst you can win the Rumble with very few eliminations - Vince McMahon won in 1999 with just one - you do need to eliminate at least one person to book your ticket to the main event of WrestleMania. This fact clearly passed these ten performers by.

What exactly the people on this list were doing in the Rumble isn't clear, but it certainly didn't involve trying to win. If they were trying, they weren't doing very well because everybody on this list spent at least half an hour in a Rumble match without a single elimination. To put this into perspective, John Cena spent less than nine minutes in the 2008 Rumble and he eliminated four people on his way to winning the whole thing.

Let's take a look at ten Rumble runs that will definitely not be included in any highlight packages...

10. Rusev (2018 Men’s) - 30:28

Royal Rumbles have been defined by great performances from the number 1 spot. Shawn Michaels in 1995. Chris Benoit in 2004. Brock Lesnar in 2020. Rusev in 2018... wait a second, that doesn't belong here.

The man currently known as Miro actually debuted for the main roster during a Rumble, needing four men to throw him out of the 2014 match. In 2018, he kicked the Men's Rumble off opposite Mr. Cheese-Grater Abs himself, Finn Balor. The Demon King had an incredible Rumble, lasting almost an hour, scoring four eliminations, and being a part of the epic "Past vs Future" stare down between the final six men in the match.

As for the Bulgarian George Clooney, he lasted 30 minutes and 28 seconds before getting chucked over the top rope by the then-feuding Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy. This was just a few weeks removed from the thunderous ovation he and Aiden English got at Clash of Champions and with that in mind, the way Rusev was treated here - being eliminated unceremoniously as part of a undercard storyline - hardly seems right.
