10 Wrestlers Who Still Believe In Kayfabe
3. Bray Wyatt
Bray Wyatt has always worked well in amassing a sense of mystery for his characters in pro wrestling. When WWE forced him to do press to promote events whilst he was portraying The Wyatt Family cult leader on TV every week he found a way around it by often staying in character throughout interviews. It’s been said he hates when real life details of his get out in the public, like his highly publicised divorce after getting together with ring announcer JoJo Offerman, as he exclusively wants to be known for the roles he plays on Raw or SmackDown.
When most wrestlers are using their social media to comment on anything and everything, Wyatt posts cryptically on Twitter to enhance the persona he portrays on TV, writing sentiments like ‘It never forgets’ and ‘The thing about fire is, it does what it pleases. I burn, you burn, we all burn. Eventually.’
When Bray prepared The Fiend character for WWE TV he surrounded it in secrecy. Wyatt disappeared from television in summer 2018 and he didn’t let on to anyone outside of helping him create it his future intentions of repackaging himself with The Fiend. It was in April 2019 he first presented the world on what he had been working on since taking a break.
You have to think the picture of The Fiend posing with a member of WWE production that leaked online last year must have ticked off Bray to no end.
