10 Wrestlers Who Suffered For Being Too Good

7. Samoa Joe

If feels like only a matter of time before Samoa Joe steps away from the commentary table and makes his return to in-ring action, but the Samoan Submission Machine has spent the last few months being too good on the call for his own good.

To be fair, Samoa Joe himself seems to be having a blast commentating on Raw and WWE PPVs, and the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion brings such a level of a) credibility, and b) outright entertainment to the announce desk.

Samoa Joe isn't the first active wrestler to spend some time on commentary, but he's easily one of the best in recent memory. If Joe wasn't as good at the announce desk as he is, he'd have undoubtedly been pushed back to in-ring competition weeks, it not months ago. But Joe is good. He's damn good. And as a result, he's found himself alongside Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton every Monday night, rather than cracking skulls in the squared circle.

With this entry, as mentioned, Joe seems more than happy to be utilised as a commentator right now, but it seems like a huge loss to keep him out of the ring - even more-so when WWE has been working under a depleted roster for so much of 2020.
