10 Wrestlers Who Took The Fall To Make Others Look Good

2. Dolph Ziggler

One of WWE's greatest unsung heroes, Dolph Ziggler is actually the inspiration behind the idea for this article. In a YouTube interview with Chris Van Vliet, Ziggler described his role in WWE as being like a universal tool. (No, he wasn't talking about his personality). Basically, Ziggler is able to fit into any role the company needs, much like Bryan Danielson in AEW.

A young talent needs testing in the ring? Send for Dolph. The Intercontinental Champion needs a worthy opponent? Send for Dolph. A main eventer got injured and needs replaced? Send for Dolph. Even if no-one expects Ziggler to win in any of those scenarios, you know he's going to put on a hell of a show regardless.

Ziggler jokingly stated in the aforementioned interview that his WWE career consists of "...about 90% losses", which seems insane for a former World Heavyweight Champion but it's not far from the truth. WWE have never seriously got behind Dolph (one of the worst parts of 2015 was seeing them waste the momentum from his huge win at Survivor Series the previous year), yet he still remains employed, healthy and in a great place in his life.

Dolph Ziggler may not be the megastar many pinned him to be when he arrived in the WWE, but he's still a valuable asset who'd be snapped up by any other wrestling promotion in a heartbeat. Not bad for a man with a 10% win record!
