10 Wrestlers Who Transformed Their Careers By Leaving WWE
5. Deonna Purrazzo
Since joining Impact in May 2020, Deonna Purrazo is a two-time Knockouts Champion and was voted both Wrestler and Knockout of the Year. Under her new braggadocious “The Virtuoso” gimmick, she has lived up to her borderline narcissism putting on compelling matches against the likes of Rosemary, Jordynne Grace, and Su Yung.
These accomplishments are immense compared to her run in WWE. She has achieved more in mere months at Impact than she did during six years with her old employers. First appearing as a Rosebud in 2014, and later jobbing for NXT up-and-comers, Purrazzo signed a WWE contract in 2018. Though she had an impressive showing in the second Mae Young Classic, she resumed racking up losses. She was released during the 15 April 2020 talent purge, with WWE’s creative team deeming her not ready for television.
In amongst her 2020 accomplishments, Purrazzo has proven her WWE doubters wrong. As well as this being a typical WWE oversight, Purrazzo’s WWE fate likely wasn’t helped by the currently stacked roster, with NXT currently having one of the world’s best women’s divisions.
