10 Wrestlers Who Turned Heel On AEW

7. Dax Harwood

Bret Hart
AEW

Dax Harwood spent a lot of time attempting to work a lot of people online that FTR could be returning to WWE in April 2023, using a combination of comments on his short-lived podcast and not-that-cryptic remarks about their unhappiness with various aspects of life in AEW at the start of the year.

Between defending his friend and company pariah CM Punk at every opportunity and carefully phrasing his tweets after significant in-ring defeats following the duo's iconic 2022, Harwood seemed to be trying to paint the picture of a man on the fringes of all he'd once loved.

Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, it appears very much as though the promotion was as in on it as the performer himself. When the group toasted wrestlers winning multiple Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards in early-2023 and conveniently left FTR out of their celebrations, it was Harwood that called out the error rather than an eagle-eyed fan. It was at this point it looked more like a Him problem than an AEW one, and a worked one at that.

They were back doing Top Guy stuff in April.
