10 Wrestlers Who VANISHED When ECW Died
5. Chris Chetti
For just over four years, Chris Chetti starred on the ECW roster, having been trained by the company’s House Of Hardcore school by Mikey Whipwreck and Taz, the latter of whom is actually his cousin.
Chetti’s ECW career took a while to get going, as he previously competed under two other alias’; Chris Van de Lay and, more humorously, as GQ Gorgeous, it being humorous by way of his allegiance to Pat Daly in the Erotic Experience tag team. It was a daring move, really, given ECW’s reputation, but alas, GQ Gorgeous wasn’t going to get him anywhere.
It was as Chris Chetti that brought him the most success. His partnership with Nova is what he was most known for. Although they never captured the ECW World Tag Team Championships, the pairing enjoyed bouts with Danny Doring and Roadkill, the Impact Players, and Gedo and Jado.
After losing to Nova at the 2000 November To Remember pay-per-view, Chetti’s time in ECW was up. He wrestled around the North American independent circuit from 2000 until 2005, failing to make any sort of impact, regardless of the promotion.
His retirement match in 2013 saw Chetti and Nova reunite to defeat Starman and the Hurricane in 2013; his first bout in eight years.
