2. The Prodigy

The Puerto Rican also wrestled as both Tom Marquez and as El Diablo during his ECW career, but it’s as the Prodigy that this guy is more known as.

Debuting with ECW in August 1996 after training under the Dudley Boyz, Taz, Perry Saturn, and others, he was a mainstay with the company through to their final hour. Most notably, you may remember him, alongside the Prodigette (played by the imposing bodybuilder Angel Orsini), as secondary acts alongside ECW stalwart Simon Diamond.

Either that, or you recall the Sideshow Freaks stable that included both the Prodigy and the Prodigette, alongside Bilvis Wesley, the Muskateer, and Johnny Swinger.

No? Thought not.

The former Tom Marquez wrestled just about the entire ECW roster during his time; Steve Corino, Taz, Rhino, CW Anderson, Kid Kash, Super Crazy, and just about everyone else faced him at least once. It was, however, Nova who had the privilege(?) of battling the Prodigy in his final ECW outing, going down on 13 January 2001 in Arkansas.

He’d spend a brief period of time in Japan before returning to the States, wrestling for a number of independent promotions across North America - including capturing Phoenix Championship Wrestling’s Television Championship - before his retirement match in December 2005.
