A place called The Bottomless Pit is just the sort of location one might expect to run into a worm-eating madman who calls himself The Boogeyman.

However, The Bottomless Pit isn't a WWE creation. It is actually a phrase from the Greek New Testament that references the "abyss", or pit of immeasurable depth. Furthermore, it is said to be the abode of demons, which in this instance bear an uncanny resemblance to the Star Wars character Darth Maul.

Apparently, The Boogeyman was able to escape from the abyss. Instead of wreaking havoc on mankind, the demon decided to join the SmackDown roster. During his stint on SmackDown, he put worms in his opponent's mouths, ate a mole off of Jillian Hall's face, and even helped Teddy Long defeat Eric Bischoff. The maniacal Boogeyman lasted in WWE for just under four years before being released from his contract in 2009.

Instead of returning to The Bottomless Pit, The Boogeyman decided to try his luck in the pro wrestling independent circuit where he currently competes today.
