10 Wrestlers Who Were Driven Out Of The Business
7. Shawn Stasiak
Shawn Stasiak was the son of WWWF royalty, so it's rather bizarre that he had no grasp whatsoever of locker room etiquette.
He had an in, and he had a great physique, so despite being a deeply generic wrestler, he was allowed a slot in the highly competitive Attitude Era. As 'Meat', he played a boy-toy so sexually charged that he was too knackered, after blowing his beans, to enter strong in-ring performances. The fact that he was bad and woefully inexperienced did not help, of course.
It was Vince Russo taking a not that stupid page out of Paul Heyman's "accentuate the positives, hide the negatives" philosophy, but Stasiak lasted longer in the bedroom than he did the WWF. He was vilified amongst the boys for allegedly recording an argument between the British Bulldog and Steve Blackman. That is the most fascinating thing Stasiak has been involved in, it had nowt do with him, and nobody saw it. Bulldog was never one for MENSA, but imagine picking a fight with Blackman, Jesus. Bizarre from Davey Boy, who was lucky he wasn't put on his fookin' arse.
While Stasiak was allowed back - albeit as a displaced WCW nobody that the WWF didn't know what to do with - he left wrestling altogether in 2002. His heart was never in it, and he lacked the support of management, fans, and the boys.
All's well that ends well, however, and Stasiak, who was never cut out for wrestling, has since become a successful chiropractor post-retirement.
