10 Wrestlers Who Were Insulted By WWE Roles They Were Offered

Edge's second appearance on 'Talk Is Jericho' many moons ago revealed one thing: John Cena is to blame for the bungled nightmare that was SummerSlam 2010's headliner. He was the one who went to bat for a cobbled-together Team WWE and felt losing to the upstart Nexus was an insulting thought.

Thanks for nothing, John.

Instead of helping to build a group who badly needed sustainable momentum, Cena reportedly trod on their dreams by requesting a booking change before the pay-per-view. According to both Edge and Jericho during latter's interview with the former, that was a mistake which ended any chances the heel side had of getting over.

So, to be fair, this is a bit of a mixed bag. Cena heard that Nexus were written to go over and said, 'absolutely not', and both his Canadian teammates grumbled to one another that it wasn't the right call. They thought Wade Barrett going over was the way to go.
