10 Wrestlers Who Were Insulted By WWE Roles They Were Offered

7. Owen Hart

Family > wrestling.

That's what Owen Hart thought anyway. His stunning 'Dark Side Of The Ring' documentary revealed just how big a family man the youngest Hart brother was - Owen doted over his wife Martha, his daughter Athena and his son Oje, and he wasn't going to let wrestling's fantasy land get in the way of that.

That's presumably why Hart was so appalled when the WWF pitched a love triangle storyline between Debra, Jeff Jarrett and himself in 1999. Bruce Prichard has even said on his afore-linked pod that Owen turned the idea down flat and wouldn't entertain any tweaks. He wasn't going to do it, and that was that.

Hart was worried that other kids at school would see him cheating on Martha and give Athena and Oje hell for it. He also didn't want anyone to think he was unfaithful generally, and didn't give a hoot if it was only a fictional storyline.

This was a line Owen wasn't willing to cross, and he was affronted at the mere pitch.
