Whether you like AEW or not, be thankful. The promotion offered Jon Moxley a sanctuary from WWE-related purgatory almost two years ago, and he may never look back. Why would he? Jon, as Dean Ambrose, was a miserable sod towards the end of his run there. At times, he looked like he'd rather be anywhere else.

Deano didn't jive with Vince McMahon's philosophies at all. He was every bit the frustrated ex-CZW madman who wanted to break out of his corporate prison and carve some fools up with barbed wire again. Maybe it was never destined to be a good fit when put like that.

Ambrose wanted critically acclaimed matches and freedom, not ass-jabs and 50/50 booking.

Things came to a head during that nasty inoculation business on the 26 November 2018 episode of Raw. That was the exact moment when the soon-to-be reborn Moxley knew his time was up in WWE. He couldn't take anymore of the half-baked ideas that were being thrown at him.
