Some folks just don't get along.

CM Punk, in fairness, seems like a cutting dude at times. His rebellious spirit collided with the sometimes-stuffy, suited and booted nature of WWE business that Triple H represents. By 2014, Punk had tired of smiling. His body and mind needed a lengthy rest from the bullsh*t, and he decided to walk.

The thought of jobbing to Trips at WrestleMania XXX was the last straw. Here was a guy who, rightly or wrongly, believed he should be headlining 'Mania by 2014. Instead, he was going to stare at the lights for someone he didn't think he should, and that wasn't going to fly.

Punk's inner-revolutionary kicked in and he told both Hunter and Vince McMahon backstage that he was going home before the post-Royal Rumble edition of Raw. Mentally, he couldn't cope with yet another mediocre WrestleMania season during which others motored ahead in the top spots.
