10 Wrestlers Who Were Secretly The Greatest Intercontinental Champions Ever

10. Don Muraco

€˜The Magnificent Muraco€™ was a hated heel and a near main eventer for several years in the early eighties, winning the title from Latino legend Pedro Morales in summer 1981, and losing it back to him five months later in a Texas Death Match that set the capstone to an exciting, dynamic feud. That same year, Muraco as Intercontinental Champion wrestled WWF World Champion Bob Backlund twice at Madison Square Garden, fighting to an hour long time limit draw in the first instance. His second time with the title was in 1983/4, when he held it for 385 days straight. Muraco later became the first ever King Of The Ring in 1985, and is otherwise notable for being the first wrestler to hold the nickname €˜The Rock€™.
