10 Wrestlers Who Were Stuck In Midcard Purgatory

8. Natalya

Natalya is the very definition of a women's midcarder. When she retires we will look back at her career and wonder why there aren't more championships and memorable matches, but at the same it will be difficult to say if she underachieved or not. Natalya plays a very important role in the women's division.

Natalya is that recognisable competitor in the middle of the card, the gatekeeper if you will. She will defeat most, but a win over the daughter of Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart is a good sign that someone is ready to move up in the card. She has long proven that she can be a convincing heel or face, and her midcard position is unlikely to change any time soon.

Still, she hasn't moved up or down for years now, and more so than any other female she seems stuck in the middle of the card, the important cog that still gets lost in the shuffle. She'll make it to the final three or four of a battle royal, and will probably be in the inevitable women's Money in the Bank match. Will she win? Of course not.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
