Unlike Raquel Diaz, Maxine was remembered in NXT more for what she did outside of the ring with her long-running relationships with Derrick Bateman and Johnny Curtis. Of course, this transpired on the forgotten Redemption season of NXT from early 2012, where everyone was able to get away with almost whatever they wanted because virtually no one was watching the show.

Once that version of NXT was done away with in favor of what we see nowadays, the writing was on the wall for Maxine and her future in WWE, so she walked away from the company in June 2012 on her own merit. She promised to try out an acting career, and in a way, she did just that in her gig with Lucha Underground.

For the last three years, she has had much more of a presence on-air as a manager than as a a wrestler, though she could still likely compete when she wants to. As Catrina, she has been one of the best parts about the promotion through her brooding persona and tendency to lick the faces of her fallen adversaries.

Maxine has no doubt turned heads with her work in Lucha Underground, and would fit right in as either an authority figure or as a valet for someone in NXT down the line.
