Before becoming a fixture in NXT, Trent Barreta was a member of WWE's ECW and SmackDown brands as one-half of The Dude Busters. Once his partner Caylen Croft was released in late 2010, he branched off into singles competition and showed tremendous potential in the ring.

Despite that, WWE did nothing of note with him, forcing him to become just another enhancement talent on the roster. Interestingly enough, it was when he suffered an injury on an episode of NXT in early 2012 that he got over with a portion of the audience through his recurring "Where's Trent?" segments on Zack Ryder's Z! True Long Island Story YouTube series.

Sadly, NXT failed to capitalize on the buzz upon his return to the ring in 2013 and he was released shortly thereafter. Since then, he has had a whole other career for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

His teams with Rocky Romero and Chuck Taylor have won him multiple tag team titles, and it might be only inevitable before one of those two tandems ends up in NXT, giving Trent a second lease on life.
