10 Wrestlers Who Will Benefit The Most From The WWE Draft 2020
The 2020 WWE Draft is complete; who might look back at it as the start of something beautiful?
It is difficult to take the 2020 WWE Draft seriously, seeing as the company itself doesn't seem to be worried about doing so. Still, it is best to try and give it a vague air of importance, especially considering the fantasy booking possibilities that WWE drafts still throw up.
WWE rejigged its RAW and SmackDown rosters over two nights, moving stars from Monday to Friday and vice versa. Some of the moves were expected while others seemed to be totally lacking in logic, but that may well be WWE in a nutshell. Whatever the opinions, the draft happened, so who stands to benefit from it?
As with most WWE drafts, the stage is set for fresh faces to graduate to the main event, for new feuds to kick-off and for unexpected names to jump out of the woodwork and show the WWE Universe what has been hidden for so long. Either that or the wrestlers will continue to move around the two shows with abandon, getting stuck in the same feuds for months on end.
Staying away from the tempting tentacles of cynicism is key to being a professional wrestling fan, so this write is choosing to approach the 2020 WWE Draft with hope and excitement. Which wrestlers should do the same? The following 10 (well, 12, to be exact) for a start...
10. Apollo Crews
2020 was shaping up to be the best year of the former Uhaa Nation's career, at least as far as his WWE tenure is concerned. After years of treading water, Apollo Crews finally got that breakthrough win when he defeated Andrade for the United States Championship, capturing his first WWE singles championship in the process. Sure, it happens in front of zero fans, but that was only a minor drawback. Apollo Crews had finally arrived.
The problem for Crews was that he arrived at the same time as The Hurt Business. Crews subsequently spent the next 34,845 years taking part in matches against various members of the new faction, trading wins and losses with MVP, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. He lost his title to Lashley as the losses became more frequent than the wins, and all of a sudden Crews is back in midcard purgatory.
The move to SmackDown could do wonders for Crews. Now established as a competitor worthy of title contention, Crews is now free of the violent tentacles of The Hurt Business and clear to zero in on Sami Zayn and the WWE Intercontinental Championship.
