10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Be World Champion Again

6. Rey Mysterio

The iconic masked sensation has battled for the top strap on a number of occasions over the last ten years or so, most recently going toe-to-toe with the likes of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns over the WWE and Universal Championship, respectively.

However, the last time The Master of the 619 heard "and new!" on the back of a World Title encounter was in 2011, with Mysterio besting The Miz for the WWE Championship before being conquered by John Cena on the very same night of July 25.

The Ultimate Underdog is still proving he can hang with the very best of them on WWE programming at this current moment, it must be said. But at the age of 47-years-old and with the star tentatively currently planning on calling it a day before he turns 50, the clock is very much ticking on one last run in the world title sun.

Again, it's not as though Mysterio desperately needs one more top championship win to cement his legacy. He's already a GOAT. So, it's more likely he'll continue putting his energy into giving his son the best platform to succeed going forward rather than pushing for a fourth and final WWE World Championship.
