10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Be WWE Champion Again

7. Sheamus

What happens first; Sheamus wins another world title or has 'Too Many Limes' reinstated as his entrance theme? In all likelihood neither are going to happen, but fans can dream. Not that many would dream of the Celtic Warrior winning another world title, especially considering how poorly his last run was received.

Still, Sheamus remains one of the most underrated WWE wrestlers of the modern era. The man from Dublin has quietly compiled himself an impressive list of achievements, winning everything there is to win with the exception of the Universal and Intercontinental Championships. Nobody would bet against him grabbing the latter at some point in the future, but a run at the former (or another WWE Championship reign) seems beyond Sheamus now.

There is plenty of value in arguing that Sheamus eventually makes his way into the WWE Hall of Fame, but that will almost certainly be as a four-time world champion, not a five plus. Still, when you add that to a Royal Rumble match win, a Money in the Bank briefcase, a King of the Ring tournament success, three United States Championships and five reigns with tag gold, it isn't too bad a career at all.

Still, it would be nice to hear 'Too Many Limes' again...

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
