Dustin Rhodes has already announced his intention to retire from in-ring action in 2023, which will finish off a marvellous twilight run for 'The Natural' in AEW. The past few years have gone some way toward reshaping Dustin's legacy in the wrestling industry, as he has become the ultimate veteran gatekeeper in a promotion filled with exciting young talent.

Rhodes had spent the majority of his career as the eclectic Goldust in WWE before joining his brother Cody in AEW, with the pair having a five-star classic match at the inaugural Double or Nothing in 2019. Since then, Dustin has continued to outperform what people expected of him, as he proved to be more than just the sideshow act that the 'Bizarre One' character often portrayed him to be.

Whilst it could be argued that he doesn't need to retire yet, Rhodes should be commended for choosing to end his career on his own terms. It will make his coming year a very interesting one to follow as he attempts to have one last memorable run to conclude a career that has spanned five different decades.
