10 Wrestlers Who Will Undoubtedly Return To WWE Eventually

3. Rey Mysterio

There is no doubt Rey Mysterio will go down as one of the greatest luchadors of all-time. He garnered great success in the first half of his WWE tenure, but his final few years with the company were riddled with injuries. It seemed like he wasn't back in action for long before he was sidelined with another setback. Following a contract dispute that lasted many months, WWE ultimately let him go in February 2015 without so much as a goodbye on their website. It was a rather sad way for his time with the company to end, but it did open the doors for him to return to AAA as a major star as well as Lucha Underground. He just recently debuted in the promotion, but now it's being said WWE could want him back before the end of the year. They already have two top Latino stars in Alberto Del Rio and Kalisto, but there's always room for more. There is only so much Mysterio could do as an active wrestler at this stage of his career, but it's possible he returns to WWE to serve as an ambassador to the company. He definitely wouldn't be wrestling as regularly as he was before he left last year, but simply to see him back on WWE TV managing Kalisto would be worthwhile. Similar to John Morrison, his current contract with Lucha Underground will keep him from coming in any time soon, but if WWE desperately wanted him, they would go to any lengths to make it happen.
