10 Wrestlers Who Won Despite Taking The Finish

9. Shane McMahon (WWE WrestleMania 35)

A decent stunt spot that realistically scanned as more hassle than it was worth, The Miz and Shane McMahon only really performed a suplex off of randomly-rigged structure because 'The Money' has raised expectations beyond his skillset.

His placement in any major match virtually promises something a bit like this, but that very notion is rooted in years of McMahon suffering violence en route to cathartic defeat. In keeping with the rest of their feud, (McMahon had to be sold on teaming with him, then was booked to carry the team, then booked to turn and split them up) he wasn't affording 'The A-Lister' quite as much at WrestleMania 35.

The two hurtled to the crash mats below, but controlled their landing in such a way that McMahon ended up across Miz for the anti-climatic victory. Asking why the former WWE Champion would have taken such a risk for theoretically no positive outcome is simply not the question the company wanted you to pose.
