Admittedly, there's still time for Otis to pull the nose up on this one, but there's no denying his stock plummeted after being flavour of the month in 2020. The guy's work in Alpha Academy alongside Chad Gable has been good, but it thus far hasn't matched winning Money In The Bank, bagging Mandy Rose as his girl and being on everyone's lips.
WWE either got bored or just didn't know what to do with his push.
Winning MITB was a false dawn for Otis. Even at his peak, he never came across as the kind of worker WWE would put a World Title on, so everyone just sorta waited around twiddling their thumbs and knowing failure was around the next corner. Creative went ice cold on the super-endearing (and super-unlikely) love story with Mandy too.
Otis seemed to have won the creative jackpot by carrying about the briefcase and sharing sweet segments with Rose, but everything went to sh*t when tag-team partner Tucker betrayed him and The Miz took his Money In The Bank prize. He's been a lower midcarder ever since.
